Directions

1. Equipment Check: Confirm that all pool equipment is functioning correctly. Clean the filter system if necessary.
2. pH Adjustment: Ensure the pool water pH is between 7.2 and 7.6.
3. Chlorine/Bromine Levels: Maintain proper levels of chlorine or bromine. For pools treated with chlorine, add a stabilizer. This will help maintain an optimal cyanuric acid level between 30-40 ppm. This protects chlorine from breaking down in sunlight.
4. Cleaning: Vacuum any leaves or foreign debris from the pool. If algae are visible, brush it off the pool surfaces thoroughly using a brush that's compatible with those surfaces.

Preventing Pool Algae:

• Initial Application: Add 8 ounces of this product for every 10,000 gallons of pool water.
• Regular Maintenance: Continue with a weekly dose of 1-1/2 ounces per 10,000 gallons. For maintenance every two weeks, use 3 ounces per 10,000 gallons.
• Safety Precaution: Wait at least 15 minutes after application before swimming.

Treating Visible Pool Algae:

1. Initial Oxidizer Treatment: Use an oxidizer like SpaGuard Enhanced Shock. Follow the label instructions and let the pool circulate for 1 hour.
2. Use algaecide while the pump and filter are on.
3. Add 16 ounces of the product for every 10,000 gallons of pool water. Focus on areas with the most algae growth. Ensure the pool water circulates for 24 hours.
4. Subsequent Cleaning: The following day, brush the pool surfaces thoroughly.
5. Safe Re-Entry: Before swimming, test the chlorine levels to ensure they are between 1-4 ppm. Do not enter the pool if chlorine levels are outside this range.
6. Repeat if Needed: If algae keeps coming back, brush and apply the product again after 2-4 days. This will help eliminate it completely.
