Directions & Dosage- Zeolite Media

Zeolite is a high-performance alternative pool filter medium to silica sand. Zeolite can filter particles down to 3 microns, whereas traditional sand filters down to only 20-35 microns. Best of all, you only need around 50% Zeolite by weight.

Important: If your filter calls for pea gravel, please make sure to use this! Zeolite is meant to replace the sand, but pea gravel is still required to prevent channeling.

How much Zeolite do I use for my pool filter?

With Zeolite, you only need to use 50% of the weight compared to sand, as required per the manufacturer specifications. For example, if your pool filter calls for 200 lbs of sand, then you only need to use 100 lbs of Zeolite. Please see the chart under 'Directions & Dosage' for more information.

Do I still need to use pea gravel with Zeolite?

Yes- you still need to use pea gravel with Zeolite, if your pool filter calls for it. The purpose of Pea Gravel is to prevent water channeling inside of the filter.
