1. Chemical Application: For pools equipped with salt systems or high total dissolved solids (TDS) over 1200 ppm, enhance the treatment by using Jack's Magic The Blue Stuff or The Purple Stuff at a rate of 1 qt. per 10,000 gallons of water.
2. Mixing: Thoroughly brush the pool to guarantee that all chemical products are fully dissolved.
3. Circulation and Monitoring: Maintain continuous circulation of the pool water throughout the treatment process. The duration can range from as brief as 48 hours to as long as 2 weeks, contingent on stain severity.
4. Weekly Maintenance: During the treatment, clean filters and add chlorine (or alternative sanitizer) weekly. Avoid shocking the pool and maintain a level of 20 ppm of The Blue Stuff or The Purple Stuff.
5. Rebalancing Alkalinity: Once stains are eradicated, which may take several weeks, cautiously rebalance total alkalinity by adding sodium bicarbonate, no more than 4 lbs. every 8 hours.
6. Swimming Precautions: Refrain from swimming for the entire duration of the treatment to ensure safety and effectiveness.
7. Equipment Caution: Before initiating the treatment, isolate heaters and/or heat pumps from the circulation system. If isolation is not feasible, avoid using Stain Solution #2.
